Landmark Recovery has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy for two of its LLCs. The two LLCs are Landmark Recovery of Denver and Landmark Recovery of Arkansas. This appears to be a preemptive move to prevent a lawsuit and eviction by Sabra Health Care REIT. Landmark reportedly owes $1 million in rent for facilities that never opened. Landmark was in negotiations for Sabra, and those negotiations ended. Sabra is looking to terminate all of Landmark’s leases. In the filing, Landmark claims to be current on rent for its facilities in Morrilton, Aurora, and Colorado Springs.
Back in July 2025, Landmark claimed to be under new ownership; however, the Chapter 11 filings list both Matt and Clifford Boyle as executives. Landmark claims to owe Sabra over $840,000, Scipps Media Group over $459,000, and Maxim Healthcare Services over $409,000.
Chapter 11 temporarily prevents creditors from taking Landmark to collections or filing lawsuits. Landmark will need to develop a plan to become profitable and repay its creditors. The filing also lists Landmark Recovery of Louisville as a co-owner for both LLCs. Landmark lists a second unnamed facility in Colorado Springs.
Landmark Recovery of Colorado is also affiliated with other Colorado facilities, including Sheridan Grove Recovery in Aurora, Colorado; Praxis of Colorado Springs by Landmark Recovery; Praxis Suboxone Clinic by Landmark Recovery; Landmark Recovery of Denver; and Landmark Recovery Suboxone Clinics, according to its petition.
Time will tell if the Chapter 11 plan gets approved and adopted.
I’ll tell you. Those months they would only provide us with paper checks (some bounced) had zero tax info on them. Just my name and address. They need to chalk it up and quit before any one else dies there.
I do so love America where the corporation seemingly has no money, yet the pockets of the owners and board members are lined with gold. Matty LittleBoy is broke? Bullshit. Typical corporate move to avoid dealing with their financial responsibilities all the while raking in that sweet, sweet Medicaid money.
One of the (many) reasons I left was that corporate wouldn’t pay for repairs for facilities. I’ve never – never – worked at any corporation where you could literally have central air conditioning break down and be told, “Sorry, that’s a local issue, that has to come out of your budget.” Oh. Wow. Okay. So, the meager $8,000 – $10,000 to the facility per month….you know, the budget that is supposed to cover things like paying our vendors (who were always owed tens of thousands of dollars and we had to pay them pennies on the dollar to keep them from stopping all services and/or suing us)? You mean spend money from our budget that we have to use to buy medical and personal supplies for clients? Spend money we need for the internet? For toilet paper? For hand soap?
Broken A/C.
Broken heaters.
Broken stoves and other kitchen fixtures.
Broken showers for clients.
Broken windows.
Broken screens.
Broken magnetic security locks.
Broken pipes that are flooding client living areas.
Yup. You read it right. Matty Boy-oh-Boy says that has to be paid for from the *local budget* and if you are out of money: tough.
Never – ever – have I worked at or heard of any place that, again I say, forces the local building budget to pay for necessary infrastructure repairs. And, it comes from a budget that is almost immediately depleted due to the constant – constant – need to pay for all the above items referenced.
You can’t keep up and you’re constantly juggling to pay everyone. God help you if you run into an unexpected expense (as listed above), home office won’t provide you jack shit. You’re on your own.
This is why there are so many stories about staff having to bring in supplies and food for clients. There is never enough money.
Yet….Matty Oh-Boy-What-A-Little-Boy lives in a *very* nice house.
Staff having bounced payroll checks.
Not enough money to buy supplies for group therapy.
I got out, like so many have, and I knew going in it was a shitshow. I now have my own time under my belt as proof this place needs to shut down and Matty Batty needs to get a real job in the real world and learn what it’s like to be forced to play by the bullshit rules he and his corrupt daddy have in place.
But, I’m hoping for too much. Mattie has a Platinum Parachute ready to go, and when it’s his time to face the music, he’ll be long gone and others will be left to take the hit.
You worded this perfectly. I was there several years, it never changed. Ceiling tiles falling out and “faculties manager” will use tape lol. Mold in bathrooms. WE had to bring our own bleach in to clean it. Because no necessary items are in the budget.
But God forbid the soda dispenser at the corporate office was out of Diet Coke..
I worked there as the first person in their newest position as recruiting coordinator. They trained me poorly and my boss Mo at the time set up a meeting with me to discuss issues I was creating but when I was completely shocked and asked for details she showed me a printed paper that was honestly something I had never seen before. When I explained this to her, her reasoning was well who else could have done this? Which is absolutely ridiculous since they had eventually brought on a second coordinator after me and it could have very well been her. I got covid during my first 90 days and sent them everything they needed. During my 90 day review I was excited for the meeting that day and to finally be out of trial training new hire status. Right before the meeting I went to the restroom and when I returned to my desk a lady from HR was packing up my decorations and personal belongings into a box. I was confused and asked what she was doing, and emotionless as ever she said that I wasn’t supposed to be there. I am at this point led to the meeting and there are multiple people sitting around a table. I am then informed that I was being let go due to missing days during my probationary period. I was so upset I started tearing up embarrassingly in front of everyone while they just sat there. I mean, its not my fault I got covid I cant control that and I provided a test result and records. What it really was able I believe to this day is that they all acted like mean high-school girls. It was definitely a cliche click and I was more reserved. I have always been an intelligent woman and I am always extremely responsible and compassionate but I somehow didnt feel like they liked or accepted me when I havent had that issue anywhere else in my life. During my firing meeting they gave me a paper with information about how to apply for unemployment. When I applied and got approved for it they fought me on it and I had to attend a 3 way phone meeting with them and a judge who would decided if I got to keep it. He let me keep it obviously and questioned them accusatory and slightly irritated about why on earth they really fired someone for getting covid. 😐 my life has been so much better since then I’ve went on to manage my own store and I’ve never experienced a toxic work environment like that since.
The truly sad and disgusting part of this is the clients that need these facilities so bad so that they don’t die and that Landmark just takes their insurance money and doesn’t care. The people that I worked with in these facilities the majority of them were there for the clients and because they want to help others and the Boyle’s just take advantage of them too.
On the 2nd anniversary of Samantha Thompson’s death, 8/28/25, Matthew Boyle was added to the lawsuit against Landmark Recovery in Franklin County, Ohio. #StandUpForSam.
