Landmark is no Longer Opening the Boston Facility

The Landmark Concord facility was slated to open in October 2023. Landmark transferred ownership of the building earlier this year. The current owner has a permit for 32 beds.

Here’s where the story gets interesting. The Concord Bridge reached out to Landmark for a comment. Landmark accidentally replied. Veronika Carnogurska accidentally added The Concord Bridge to an internal email advising everyone to “just ignore.” Cliff Boyle did respond and stated that “Landmark Recovery has no operations in Massachusetts, and has no plans at this time to establish any.” I am curious as to when this comment was made, since Landmark is supposed to be under new ownership. It’s never a dull day with Landmark.

  1. Yeah, they never opened – despite the place being completely gutted and rebuilt inside, also with lots of exterior and roofing work that was likely deferred from its many years as a nursing home that changed hands several times

    Super sketchy operation

  2. They never could get a Certificate of Need. The location was owned by SABRA REIT who must have found a buyer.

SABRA and Welltower still lease multiple properties to Landmark. Some would say they are complicit by continuing to allow an operation of this reputation on their facilities. Maybe somebody should hold them to account?

The Cedar Grove smokescreen is a planned rebranding. The CEO model (used by Acadia and others) is mearly a ploy to remove the spotlight on the “home office”. Is the relocated Franklin, TN office still operating? I bet it is, with the same players.

        1. I am not sure. Landmark had an aggressive plan to open a dozen facilities throughout 2023. I had access to the spreadsheet listing out the upcoming facilities. I think only one of the planned facilities opened. Landmark would buy the property and sell them off. I don’t think Landmark owns of the properties where they are located. Landmark has been hit with countless lawsuits from patients for neglect, including from the Willard facility.
