I am being told things are worsening at Landmark Recovery of Denver. The facility currently operates without an Executive Director and a Director of Nursing. Corporate is training the Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAPs) and planning on firing the entire nursing staff. Landmark readmitted a patient who had sex with an employee and got her pregnant. There is no steady cleaning staff, and patients are handling the cleaning. Patients with diabetes have to furnish their snacks. Patients are being kept longer because Landmark is struggling to set up housing.

Patients aren’t getting enough food as they often run out of money in the budget by end of the month. 100 pound females are given the same portion size as men who are 6’4” and 300 pounds. They are supposed to have all the minimum nutritional requirements by “law”.
They are starving the majority of the time. Only getting water and no electrolytes unless they can afford to buy it themselves from the main office vending machine. It’s also like pulling teeth to get staff to escort them to do this. The patients aren’t given basic hygiene needs such as soap and underwear or socks. The new clinical director is constantly on the warpath or crying in her office. She destroyed her clinical team by forcing good therapist out. Staff calls her Cruella DeVille. HR is nonexistent and a dumpster fire. Ladies and gentlemen let the lawsuits begin!!! Staff is being abused, harassed, bullied and used as scapegoats by LMK for their own bad treatment of vulnerable patients.
I was a patient & left AMA yesterday. Im looking to report them & need some assistance or I don’t even know. I only have 11 days left & I’m disgusted on how I was treated yesterday. Of course cops did nothing
I am collecting a list of resources for you.
Sounds like all the Praxis’ of Louisville. Coincidently, the Fern Valley location DON allegedly popped for drugscreen and was fired. Then they shut down Malcolm Praxis in Louisville and sent a ADON, whose and LPN, to cover Fern Valley’s DON position. Supposed to be an RN for that position, but hey, less payout for Matt. When I was ar Malcolm location they cut back in food trying buffet style, which caused even more food issues because pts were reaching over others and taking second portions before others even had a first portion, leaving no food for some. Also, they too, never had a cleaning staff, it was the PES and mostly the Patients jobs to clean. Terrible. If corporate was coming we would get a Team’s message from the ED to “make sure we cleaned extra well” the night before. It’s the same at all their locations. The ED’S operating just as Matt wants and also morally agreeing to not enough food for Patients.
You can report them to Medicaid, DORA, Joint Commission and BHA
Thank you for chiming in. The Joint Commission has been worthless. I did email them a list of places to file complaints.
Oh where to start? I was hired and quit in a 2 month period.
Their admissions people bully patients into getting a bed, RIGHT NOW, because the bed will be full and who knows when they’ll get a chance (rolling my eyes because beds open up constantly) They claim to have snacks. No, no they don’t. They don’t even have LAUNDRY SOAP. The tyrant, I mean the facility manager, locks up laundry soap and cleaning supplies.
They leave untrained staff without a nurse or a provider to supervise their 2 am intakes who’ve they’ve transported from 3 hours away.
If a patient doesn’t meet their criteria they’ll shove them in an Uber and drop them off “somewhere” (supposedly at a hospital but there’s been “misunderstandings “) after talking them into a 5 HOUR RIDE to the facility. They allow WANTED, as in they are/were (during their stay) on the state’s most wanted for crimes against CHILDREN. They have multiple offenders mixed in a coed situation now.
The admissions folks have to either have loaded guns to their heads or they get a fat commission when the facility is full because the crap they tell the patients is INSANE, i.e., yes you can bring 25 trash bags of clothes (this actually happened), yes we’ll give you Vyvanse (no the hell we won’t), and yes, we know you drove 2.5 hours to get here but, just kidding, I know you sat through 90 percent of the intake process but you cannot have this med.
One nurse for intakes in the middle of the night and a full building of patients on detox. QMAPS who not only are just out of their whole 8 hour training, but don’t speak the language, and can you guess how many times the wrong meds were given?? 3…in one shift.
Three nurses quit right when I did. The AED quit a week or so before I did and he was only there a few weeks before me. Any current employee likely knows who I am. You’re a solder for still being there.
Would you be willing to speak with a reporter?
Sure. However, I need to be semi anonymous because I am now working at another substance treatment facility and people get squirrely about “whistlblowers” and I don’t want to risk my new job.
