I am hearing that employees at Praxis of the Firelands by Landmark Recovery haven’t been paid in three weeks. Apparently, employees were told they would be paid in full today. Earlier today, I was informed that employees at Landmark Recovery of Knoxville hadn’t been paid in three weeks. Any employee who hasn’t been paid needs to contact the Department of Labor and file a complaint.

Question. Can the state licensing agencies step in and pull the license on these facilities? I think this would be of serious concern that the clients are not getting the level of care required. If they can’t pay staff what else are they not able to pay for?? Staffing, Food, sanitation supplies, emergency supplies, repairs and maintenance…? Seems like state agencies would want to know.
Several of us are working with various investigators. The issues is, it takes agencies too long to take action. Landmark was on a corrective plan in March 2023 for the Medicaid facilities in Indiana. It wasn’t until the three deaths in July for the state to take action. Seymour is in the process of being owned by another company. They are operating under Landmark’s license. Landmark has long history of not paying vendors or bills. This is the second round of Landmark struggling to pay employees. Landmark can get into trouble for serving meals when they are without a cook employed at a facility. They need that person’s license to serve meals. Landmark can also get into trouble for not having a proper staff to patient ratios. It’s all being documented and share with the investigators. What will do the trick is get Landmark to lose their insurance contracts. They have lost countless referral sources. If we can end the Tribal contract, that will hurt Landmark.
